You are sent an invitation from an address you don't know, from a name you don't recognize. Your first thought is to throw it away, and yet you can't help but rip it open, revealing the letter inside.
It states:
Dear Distinguished Citizen,
You are hereby invited to the First Annual Memorial Masquerade Ball, hosted by Mr. Jeremiah Hoss, in Lavender Town on October 31st.
We expect that the evening will be full of dancing, fun, prizes, costume contests, and a few surprises here and there.
Your patronage would be received warmly and greatly appreciated. Your Pokemon are invited, and there will be additional activities for them.
This is a couple-based ball, however, we will choose your companion for the night. We'll be sure to take into account your gender and sexuality, of course. We are accommodating of all.
It would be our greatest pleasure if we could receive you. Please be sure to RSVP by October 15th, or we may not be able to secure a seat for you.

"What's this?" Roy began to open the letter with a hint of suspicion. "I don't believe I was expecting a frilly card today." When he skimmed the details of the card, however, he brightened considerably. "Ah, a Halloween Ball? And hosted by the Hoss Family? How delightfully upper class sounding. As a gentleman, I simply cannot ignore such a lovely invitation." He scribbled his answers on the provided card. He then began to compose a reply.
Dear Hoss Family,
I am curious as to how you managed to find my adress, whether or not I am in any way related to you, and whether or not there is any real reason for me to attend this party. Still, I see no reason why opening my schedule to go to an unfamiliar location at the behest of a total stranger could possibly be a bad idea. Therefore, I and my lovely, gallant Pokemon would be delighted to be guests for your party. I shall arrive at the prescribed time and not a moment later, on my honor as a Nigma.

The Hoss family can look forward to a childishly scribbled RSVP, hastily and indecisively thrown together by resident composer Don Triomphe. Why they even bothered to send an invitation to a no-name musician/trainer with the face of a sforzando and the personality of a really loud sforzando is anyone's guess. But in any case, the card was sent back as follows.
