I.) Rules

SECTION ONE:

JUST IN GENERAL:

▬ Pokemon: Indigo League is a literate roleplay site.
We do not want anyone that cannot at least shell out two decently sized paragraphs for a reply - simple as that. There should be no excuse for it to be any lower, and writer's block is never an excuse. If you cannot think as to write a simple ten sentence reply, take a break and get back to it later. We can wait. ♥
Of course, this excludes posts for Wild Pokemon Mods. Sometimes it's just hard to reply with two paragraphs for those, y'know? You just want your pogeymanz, after all.

▬ Please have a high maturity level.


▬ No harrassing other members.
This is a major no-brainer. Just don't do it. There is never a time nor place to do this. If someone is flaming or basically being exceedingly rude to you, tell a staff member, and we'll be happy to assist you. This includes (but is not limited to) cursing at another member (and I don't mean in a friendly, chump way, or cursing in general), flaming another, trolling, or pestering someone excessively.

▬ For God's sake, be social.
Seriously, it's no fun at all to hang around with a high member count where no one even pops out a hello on the c-box. It's much easier to reply to someone that you feel is your chum, so think about that. We'd love to get to know you, as long as you're willing to put your word in there first. Sure, we'll say 'woah, new member' and such if we're online and you sign up, but besides that... you've got to introduce yourself.

▬ Don't post anything illegal.
Simple as that. If we could get in trouble for it, I don't want to see it. This basically means porn, hacks, and other such items. Cursing and whatever, sure, go ahead.

▬ No spamming.
This means no pointless stupid annoying messages. I don't want to see a reply that's just a smiley face or something like that. It's pathetic and does not help anyone. Also, no double posting is included in this category.

▬ No powerplaying or godmoding.
Simple, right? Now, besides a simple 'so-and-so said yes,' type of thing, to help you reply, we just don't want to see it. People don't want to see you taking control of their characters, and I don't either. Unless you have express permisson, of course. If we catch you doing this (and this involves hitting a pokemon on your own, and not allowing your opponent to decide), then the mods and higher will quickly correct this.

▬ You may only have one moderated thread at a time per character.
I don't care how many meeting threads you put up - I want the members here to have an enjoyable experience, and that doesn't mean waiting for a mod to post all the time. Connect with other characters! It's a small, social world... it may get to the point where everyone knows everyone to an extent. Your moderated thread may be a wild pokemon, a random NPC battle... whatever. Just don't overwork the guys~

▬ Please size your signatures so that they don't stretch the board.
Simple enough, right? Just make sure your signatures are no larger than 500 pixels by 200 pixels, and we'll get along swimmingly. <3

WHAM, BAM, THANKYOU M'AM - GENERAL POKEMON RULES:

▬ Be creative with your fights.
I know you must be familiar to an extent with the anime. Remember how they combine moves together, turning their pokemon into hurricanes with appetites for destruction? That's what I'd love to see. Plan your moveset, and you'll fare much better than the person that simply states, "Bobbi used scratch on Lily." Throw moves together, and make the post entertaining. You may combine up to TWO SEPARATE MOVES per pokemon, per turn.

▬ A pokemon may evolve at any time, as long as the level is appropriate.
It doesn't matter if it's in roleplay or not, as soon as you decide a pokemon should evolve, you do so... as long as the level is at or higher the requirements. Sort of a no brainer, no?

▬ A Pokemon can know four moves, at or below their level and twenty levels above their current level.
We tend to keep in the traditional 'four moves per pokemon' shindig here, but we allow a little leniency in what moves your pokemon can know. <3 Just keep it creative~
Also, please note that on your original template with your starter, you may NOT start with TMs/HMs, egg moves, or move tutor moves. Any pokemon introduced in Generations I - IV cannot have any Generation V moves until further notice.

▬ Let's make this clear - pokemon can get hurt.
I will not tolerate people acting like this is a fantasy-lions-and-meerkats-sing-with-each-other thing. What do you think happens when a Rattata and a Persian meet? I'll bet you that the Persian might get hungry... and then it's feeding time. Also, do you honestly expect a Pikachu to withstand a fight against a Snorlax if it gets flattened? I should hope not. Strategy is key, and if you let your tiny mouse pokemon tackle a squishy beast without a plan, it's going to get pushed down, its bones cracked, and it's doubtful that it'll survive. Pokemon can and will die if you're not careful.
Also, while you don't need to, I'd love to see pokemon get scars from momental battles. Jus' sayin'.
Pokemon are healed at the end of every thread, and potions may be used to heal before-hand.

▬ Pokemon gain levels through EVO.
Instead of a traditional leveling system seen on most sites (your pokemon fight, and based on their performance, they gain levels), we use EVO. Please consult this thread for more information. C:

SECTION II

▬ Please put your display name as your character's name.
First and last name, please, in proper English characters. Sure, you can pretty it up a little, but there's the gist. C:
Also, please note that it says DISPLAY NAME, not signup name. That can be whatever you like. C:

▬ One character per account.
Sorta a no brainer with the display name thing, right? If you want another character, make another account. Which leads us to....

▬ You may have as many characters as you can keep up with.
Keep up with being the key terms here. Please know yourself and judge what you can adequately manage. I don't like seeing dead accounts - it just makes more work for the mods.

▬ No Mary Sues, and no 'world revolves around me' characters.
If I see just one all-perfect, Mary-Sue girly with gravity-defying breasts, power to attract all the guys, can sing like an angel and is (oh noes!!) clumsy, I will stab my fucking eyes out (and I'm sure the rest of the mods will, too). I don't want a sob-story angsty history that goes like so: "I wuz borned with teh AIDs and mah parents died in teh wild and i wus raizzed buh the wo... mightyenas lol."
By no means does this mean that cliches are banned, for they can be done well. Just make it believable, fun to read, and reasonable - I'm sure we'll have no problems.

On a similar note, be assured that this site does not, and will never, revolve around your character. Keep that in mind as you write him/her.

▬ Please follow the character template provided!
Here on Indigo League, we have been nice enough to provide a very pleasing and pretty profile template that is easy to fill out. Now, you may alter things aesthetically and add things, but keep all the information on there there. Follow the format to a T, please - meaning, if it says three 100x100 icons, put three 100x100 icons.
If you need any help with the profile, please don't hesitate to ask a staff member.
No section on the template is optional. Ever. Fill it out completely, or else the mods will be forced to reject it.

▬ No Editing your face claim to suit your needs!
Let's say you try to face claim her, you are not allow to photoshop her and change the hair color just so she can be how you view her. If you don't want her to be with white hair, choose another character! There are plenty of people on the C-box that would help you look for another face claim!

▬ No changing your face claim after the character has been accepted!
Changing the face claims causes problems, especially if someone has had the face claim before. It also gives mods unnecessary work in removing the previous one and inserting the new one. Unless with express permission you are not

SECTION III

1.) No flaming, disrespecting, absuing, or otherwise antagonizing another member or staff. Doing so will earn you one ban. >|
2.) We're pretty lenient when it comes to double posting, sexual topics, etc; but keep it under control. Saying "bobby sexed sarah" is okay, but going into great lengths to describe their orgasmic pleasure and whatnot is not going to be tolerated.
3.) No posting links to pornographic pictures - this includes hentai.
4.) Please, don't pester the mods (or anyone else for that matter!) into replying to your threads. You can ask - politely - but please respect them if they just don't have the time. <3
5.) No excessive drama. Sometimes it's nice to vent and share your point of view, but don't start arguments, and don't let it run on too long. If a staffer asks you to stop (they have red and yellow names), STOP.
6.) No sex on the lawn.
7.) No bodily fluids on Toad's carpet
8.) No sex under Katty's roof (except on Thursdays).
9.) Mancy loves you!

NEW RRRRUUURRRUUS, LOSERS:

Rule one: No icons of boys - unless they're cute!
Rule two: No alcohol - unless there's plenty to go around!
And rule three: No parties - unless MANCY is invited!
4.) Follow all old rules that I crossed out when it is convenient to do so.
5.) Any new RRRRUUUURRRUS that Mancy makes while in Scanty mode (designated by a "~ ❤" after each post) should be obeyed for maybe two minutes.
6.) NO SEX UNDER KATTY'S ROOF. EVER. EXCEPT ON THURSDAYS. AMERICAN TIME.
7.) No acid - except at hippie meetings!
