IMPORTANT: DUE TO NEW POKÉMON RESTRICTIONS, NOT ALL POKÉMON LISTED HERE ARE PERMITTED FOR STARTING. MAKE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK THE RESTRICTED+RARES LIST HERE BEFORE SELECTING YOUR POKÉMON!

Click on the Pokémon's image to access more information about them. Baby Pokémon that evolve in a way other than leveling can also be started with their evolved form (such as Pikachu, Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Munchlax, Marill, Roselia and Togetic), but those are not listed here.

A Starter Pokémon MUST be Level 5 and may start out with Techniques they can know up to Level 25 from any generation (TM/HM moves and ones learned through breeding are not allowed). There are some exceptions, like Team Rocket and Rangers, but for that you should refer to the specific threads.
