Short and sweet because most of these should be common sense. I can't believe I actually have to write these things out for you guys, but here we go:
one - Don't be a loser and GM/PP. You know, autohit, taking control of other people's Pokemon, try and kill trainers with Pokemon, setting up a gigantic magnificent bastard asspull in order to make sure you win - common sense, guys, common sense.
two - You may use two moves per post, and may dodge once per post. However, we follow the three-strikes rule for dodges. You may dodge twice in a row before you have to be hit. Please feel free to combine moves how you see fit. Make battles entertaining, creative, and down-right enjoyable, alright?
Also, on a similar note - make counters logical. No, you may not use Swift to counter Psychic. I don't even know how you'd think that work. Common sense, guys.
three - We on Indigo League don't care how you use a move as long as it makes logical sense. For instance, if you use Psychic, you are not confined to simply blasting with Psychic energy and such. You are given freedom to do as you wish. Make battles, once again, entertaining, creative, and enjoyable, guys. Don't make them chores.
On a similar note, don't bother with percentages. If it hits, it hits. Honestly. Also, status effects do have some significance, but it's up to the receiving end if they actually become inflicted or not. However, if you take a Will-O-Wisp directly and don't get burned, you are colossally stupid.
four - Your character is not the Goddamned Batman. He is not perfect, he is not invincible, he does not know everything about battling, and if he fights someone more experienced, he will probably lose (he may also be a "she," as circumstances go). If you go up against a level 5o with a level 1o, you will probably get your ass beat into the ground. This shit should be common sense - you don't just instinctively "know" things unless (and only unless) it is a huge part of your character's personality to be a prodigy, or perceive themselves as perfection, or yaddya yaddya.
Play things out realistically. Have your character grow - learn - develop. Roleplay characters are never set in stone with their abilities or personalities - that's what Roleplaying is for. It's no fun to start at the top, guys. Don't even try to.
Hopefully that'll clear a few things up. ♥ Happy battling!
